Volunteering for the KLSB Community Group will open up new opportunities for you whether that is by joining our busy team at the community pantry where you can learn about stock control or coming out to help in the town centre by joining our new community action group. Each opportunity will allow you to gain confidence as you will be bursting through your comfort zone and meeting new people and you will also make a real difference in the community and learn new skills.

KLSB Community Pantry
The community pantry opens up 3 times per week. You will be joining an established team on any one of our open days for only 2 hours.
The duties of our pantry team is to meet and greet our members, assist them in their shopping, advise on new products, take in and store food and household donations. We will offer you a chance to gain your level 1 food hygiene certificate as well as providing a pantry uniform.
Our opening times are Thursday, Friday & Saturday 11.00am - 1.00pm
Duties will include: -
This role will suit semi retired people.
Minimum age for this role is 21
The Point Café
Join us and help bring a new initiative to our community.
We are asking for volunteers to help us bring various initiatives to our community.
Your role will be to assist our café manager in helping set up and clear up for each initiative.
These roles can include.
Delivery/Collection Driver
You will work alongside our pantry team to deliver vital support packages to our community as well as making collections of donations.
You must have a full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points. All expenses and uniforms will be supplied.
KLSB Community Outdoor Team
We have 6 large community flower beds from Burnhead Avenue down to Corrie Avenue which we maintain. We will ask you to help out on these gardens as well as sharing any skills with our less experienced volunteers in the community. We will also carry our regular litter picks throughout the community as well as other low level maintenance. You can pick whatever event suits you. The outdoor team is an amazing way of getting out and meeting new friends. You are not required to have any experience to join this group.
We offer all volunteers full PPE and branded uniforms. We have regular meetings where you will gets a chance to meet everyone where you can share your views and ideas. Lunch is always provided at our team meetings. We are open to all applicants and should be able to find a role that suits your ability, however, volunteering opportunities are limited and we cannot guarantee a role for everyone.

- Assisting members with their weekly shopping
- Taking in stock donations from our community
- Arranging stock into dates and carrying out stock control
- Tidying the pantry and stock room
- Carrying out temperature control on our fridges and freezers and recording them on the control sheets
