Poverty affects millions of people in the UK. Poverty means not being able to heat your home, pay your rent, or buy the essentials for your children. It means waking up every day facing insecurity, uncertainty, and impossible decisions about money. It means facing marginalisation - and even discrimination - because of your financial circumstances. The constant stress it causes can lead to problems that deprive people of the chance to play a full part in society.
We operate a community food pantry in King Street, Stenhousemuir where local residents can join, and be entitled to a weekly shopping at a much reduced cost. We also operate a food bank where we take referrals from Falkirk Council and groups such as NHS Forth Valley, Police Scotland, Church Groups, Local Councillors, Doctors,  Schools, and welfare support workers.

About us.
The KLSB Community Group was formed in 2018 after it was identified that there was a need for a local group in the area to help tackle issues including food insecurities, social welfare, support and general community wellbeing. We started as a small litter picking group where we gained support from local residents, groups and businesses. Since those early days we have now become a registered Scottish charity who operate a food pantry, a support hub and we are also in the process of bringing a large community garden to the area. We continue to work in the community by bringing colour to our public gardens as well as our micro gardens which can be found throughout our area.

KLSB follow the Dignity: Ending Hunger Together in Scotland report which is an independent report carried out in June 2016. The report highlights the need to give people a choice when they visit a foodbank. we also working in partnership with the Rotary Club of Larbert where we are able to offer brand new or very good quality children's clothing, boots, shoes and jackets. All bundles will be washed, pressed and ready for use. There is no need for a referral or a voucher, simply click on the image and complete our very simple form.

KLSB Community Group Micro-Fund

Thanks to The Corra Foundation we are able to offer support to low income households withing the Falkirk Council Area. The fund is designed to help out with any costs associated with rising energy bills. Succesfull households will be able to use the fund to pay bills, purchace essential items, or even offset travel costs to and from work.

Due to a very high demand on this service the funds will be capped at £50.00 per household.

In 2021 we asked our local community and businesses to help us raise funds to install a much needed AED (defibrillator) in our town centre. We hoped to raise over £700.00 which would have helped our cause, however we eventually raised over £6000.00, which allowed us to install 5 units thorough our community. We work in partnership with the team at Forth Valley First Responders who maintain the units on our behalf and who also provide CPR training to local residents and businesses.

If you, or if you would like your employees trained in CPR then please contact us for more information.
