New Horizons
KLSB have been operating a community food pantry since early 2019 after first opening in a small space above the Dobbie Hall in Stenhousemuir. From the early days we have seen first hnd the support that is needed in not only our local community, but in those around us.

As you can see from the map our communities in South Alloa, Dunsmore, Airth, Letham & Skinflats are outlying rural communities with no direct public transport to our community food pantry in Stenhousemuir. We aim to run a weekly service to these areas which will offer support to its residents in way of food and essential household items plus our service will bring a friendly face to many living in isolation. We also aim to start deliveries to residents living within Larbert, Stenhousemuir & Carron/Carronshore who are housebound and cannot make it along to our community pantry. Deliveries will be on a specific day each week and will become a vital support to many.

To support us with this new initiative we will require use of our own community van. To date we have been using our own private vehicles which has not been ideal and has restricted the support that we can offer our community.
Thanks to Community Choices we have been able to apply for funding to help us purchase a van for our initiatives. The van that we have idintified for our needs is a mid range sized van meaning that running costs and parking restrictions will be kept to a minimum. |
