Bringing people together, supporting lives, strengthening community.
2025 was a year where KLSB didn’t just maintain support, we grew in reach, scale, and impact across every age group in our community.
As financial pressures continued to affect local households, we expanded our services to ensure no one was excluded from support, connection, or opportunity. Our holiday programmes for families increased in scale, providing food, practical help, and activities that eased pressure on household budgets while giving children positive shared experiences. Over 50 children and carers benefited from fully funded day trips and holiday activities, while young people transitioning to Larbert High School built confidence and friendships through a large-scale summer trip to
Blair Drummond Safari Park, with two full coaches carrying pupils, carers, and teachers.
Food insecurity remained a pressing issue. Our Community Food Pantry supported over 60 families every week, offering affordable access to essentials in a dignified and welcoming environment. Alongside this, we responded to 181 urgent crisis referrals, working with schools, health visitors, and local agencies to provide emergency food, clothing, and practical support quickly and discreetly. During the festive period alone, 165 pantry visits were recorded for subsidised shopping, and 300+ families received support, including 385 festive food packages delivered to households facing hardship.
Children and young people remained at the heart of our work. Through our Toy Appeal and festive support programmes, over 1,500 gifts were distributed, ensuring 480+ children woke up on Christmas morning with more than one gift under the tree. These initiatives ensured dignity, joy, and inclusion at a time when financial hardship can be most visible.
Older residents were also a key focus. We expanded our regular support by introducing the Monday Mindfulness Brunch Club and Tuesday Evening Supper Club, alongside our established lunch and social groups. These initiatives provide routine, companionship, and a safe place to connect. Wellbeing-focused outings continued, with over 50 residents visiting Glasgow’s Riverside Museum followed by a three-course lunch, and 24 residents enjoying afternoon tea and a canal boat experience with the Seagulls Trust.
During the festive season, we delivered 85 Christmas dinners to elderly residents, ensuring those facing isolation felt remembered and supported.
Community events saw some of our biggest growth. The Stenhousemuir Winter Festival (29 November – 20 December) expanded from 40 stalls in 2024 to 50 in 2025, allowing more local traders and crafters to benefit. Hosted again by Dionne Hickey, the festival featured live tribute acts, new food outlets including a specialist coffee van and doughnut traders, and festive mascots, Festive Minnie, The Grinch, Olaf, and Bluey, who created magical moments for children.
The wider Christmas Festival welcomed over 2,000 attendees, strengthening community spirit while also supporting local enterprise. Across the festive period, 285 community meals were served, bringing people together in warm, inclusive spaces.
None of this would have been possible without the dedication of our volunteers, who contributed 185 volunteer hours during the festive period alone. Their time, care, and commitment are central to everything we achieve.
Every one of these initiatives was delivered free of charge, removing financial barriers and ensuring access for those who need it most. This was made possible through funding from organisations, including, amongst others, The National Lottery Community Fund, Foundation Scotland, Larbert Round Table, Local businesses, and the generosity of our local community.
We have continued to strengthen our work through strong and meaningful partnerships within our community. Collaboration remains key to what we do, and this year we have been incredibly grateful for the ongoing support of ASDA, Stenhousemuir FC Community Foundation, Blackmill Bar & Restaurant, and Larbert Round Table. We have also been pleased to build new alliances, including with Y.E.S Equipment Solutions, helping us broaden the support network available to the people we serve. All of these partners share our commitment to community wellbeing and have played an important role in helping us achieve our aims. Their support, whether through resources, funding, venues, expertise or practical assistance, has directly contributed to the positive outcomes highlighted throughout this report.
The result: families felt supported, children experienced joy and dignity, older residents felt remembered, and our community came together in ways that strengthened wellbeing and connection. In 2025, KLSB delivered more than services; we delivered belonging, compassion, and hope.
